Hello everybody, it’s not been a month. Shock horror. I’m still working on a few reviews at the moment, so this post a bit of an unboxing of a book box I received in August. This was my first ever book box, and the companys first ever box. I was very pleased with it despite not reading all of the books the items related to. The box is from Moonlight Crate, please check out their website. The September box is sold out but at the time of writing there may be some October boxes left and also some one time items from the August box.
First off we have two pieces of artwork created for the box designed by Niru.Sky, one is inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses and the other Caraval. Clink the link to be taken to their instagram page where you can see more fabulous artwork and upcoming pieces for Moonlight Crate.
Here is the collectible item – a magic stone paired with a matching tarot card. You also have a small card with a bit of a background story relating to the tarot card.
Next on the list, is an item I don’t think a lot of book boxes include, not sure why. I for one love t-shirts. This t-shirt is desgined by Moonlight Crate and features a quote from the book Angelfall by Susan Ee.
“Sometimes as we’re stumbling along in the dark we hit something good.”
So these are the items I was more excited about in the box. Where shall I start? The magnetic bookmark is inspired by The Selection series by Keira Cass, it is desigined by Klemibee (IG: klemibee). I don’t think the image does the bookmark justice. We then have a candle crafted by Catcocandles (IG: catcocandles) inspired by Shadowhunters. It’s a shame you cannot put scents and smells onto this blog post, because, let me tell this is a gorgeous candle and a beautiful scent. Lastly from this image we have an exclusive tea inspired by Caraval. I love tea, and I think this is my most favourite item. I kind of don’t want to use because I love how it is packaged.
And now it’s time for the main event of the evening *ahem* I mean box. The book is a recent YA release, A House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig, complete with signed book plate. Not something I would have picked of my own accord but it does look interesting, synopsis below:
In a manor by the sea, twelve sisters are cursed.
Annaleigh lives a sheltered life at Highmoor, a manor by the sea, with her sisters, their father, and stepmother. Once they were twelve, but loneliness fills the grand halls now that four of the girls’ lives have been cut short. Each death was more tragic than the last—the plague, a plummeting fall, a drowning, a slippery plunge—and there are whispers throughout the surrounding villages that the family is cursed by the gods.
Disturbed by a series of ghostly visions, Annaleigh becomes increasingly suspicious that the deaths were no accidents. Her sisters have been sneaking out every night to attend glittering balls, dancing until dawn in silk gowns and shimmering slippers, and Annaleigh isn’t sure whether to try to stop them or to join their forbidden trysts. Because who—or what—are they really dancing with.
When Annaleigh’s involvement with a mysterious stranger who has secrets of his own intensifies, it’s a race to unravel the darkness that has fallen over her family—before it claims her next.
I hope you enjoyed this post I know its different from reviews and book tags. Please check out Moonlight Crate, I really do recommend it. This box was purchased of my own back, I took a chance with a new company. This post is in no way affiliated with Moonlight Crate, their owners, or any of the creators featured in this box.
